Pixie and Molly are two Australian girls at a small country school in the 1920s. They have never been the best of friends but things change when their parents decide that they should attend the same school in a large town. The family they both stay with aren't very welcoming and neither are their new classmates. This initial hostility makes unwilling allies of the two girls. As they settle down they get involved in a whole series of hilarious adventures with the local boys' school, the Girl Guides and various disapproving adults and teachers.
