The 1940s. A small baby, Anne, later to become Dany Carel, the Indochinese-born movie star of the 60s, arrives in France. She's accompanied by Juliette who claims to be her mother. But Juliette places the baby in an orphanage. Anne, now 16, finds Juliette in Marseille. She meets Alice, her new found sister and covers her with love. Alice tells her about their Vietnamese mother. Juliette is furious. She claims adamantly to be their mother and sends Alice back to Vietnam. Expelled from secretarial school, Anna turns to a priest from the orphanage for support. He helps her. She auditions for an acting role and is accepted. From bit parts to feature films, Dany's rise to fame is fast and furious. But Anne's only desire is to find Alice and their real mother.
