1 THE WONDERFUL TEAM
In the project, a bunch of kids led by a boy named Frank decide to band together as a soccer team they call “the Meteors”. Some of them are delegated to go and speak to Pat Murphy, who was once a great player, and ask him to become their coach. What the kids don’t know is that Murphy is at daggers drawn with Gominor, the richest man in Onyx, the neighbouring city, and that Gominor rules over anything even remotely connected with soccer.
2 ONE HEAD TALLER
Ruddy’s parents decide that there will be no soccer for him if he fails at his maths exam. Murphy and Gladys help him revise, not wishing to be left without their goalie on the eve of a crucial match. All the more so as Gominor has selected players that are older and bigger than the Meteors for this game.
3 THE MAGICAL TOP CORNER SHOT
When the Meteors learn that the goal keeper of the team they’re supposed to meet for the coming match is nicknamed “the Wall” (i.e. the goal keeper who stops all the shots), they rack their brains to find a new game strategy. Murphy remembers that, back in the days when they were professional players, Gominor had a special shot called “the Magical Top Corner Shot”. Alas, Murphy is unable to show the kids how Gominor used to shoot this shot. The only way for them to find out is to go and ask Gominor directly, which is rather risky for the Meteors!
4 LOST IN THE MOUNTAIN
When the Meteors come to San Anpezo for a game, they are offered a guided mountain hike by the Mayor of the city. But Boris, Gominor’s henchman, knocks their guide out and takes his place, camouflaging himself in the guide’s skiing outfit. Boris’s mission is to give the Meteors the slip at the top of the mountain.
5 MAMITA MURPHY INVESTIGATES !
Pat Murphy is arrested by the police for speeding on his chopper. The Meteors inform Mamita Murphy, their coach’s mother and a lovely eccentric. Mamita joins the Meteors right away, riding through the Project on her chopper! Like mother like son!
6 THE SUBSTITUTE
Kim is selected to audition for a Girls’ band. The problem is that the casting will take place just on the day of the next game. She pretends to be sick from food poisoning. The Mayor’s nephew, a pretentious and deplorable player, will replace her for this game. But the Meteors have only once thing on their minds: to get rid of him as soon as possible!
7 ACTION ! SHOOT !
The Meteors have a game to play in Gemini, but they can’t afford the train tickets to get there. At the same time, they learn that the Mayor of the Project organises an amateur film contest and that the first prize of the contest is a minibus.
8 THE METEOR GIRLS
If the Sky Girls, a very famous Girls’ band, don’t come and sing on the stage of Onyx stadium before the game between the Meteors and the Skydreamers, the competition will be cancelled and our heroes will be eliminated from the championship. Another perilous adventure for our heroes!
9 MR BIG HEAD
Paolo is fed up with seeing his team (the Meteors) being treated like a small-time club and mauled by their opponents. He is thinking of signing a contract with another team. What he doesn’t know is that the owner of this team is Gominor.
10 A STRANGE LODGER
Lars, a cute Scandinavian boy, comes to squat in what the Meteors call their “hut”. His presence wreaks havoc in Gladys’s heart and confusion in the minds of the team members as they wonder if his intentions are good. Couldn’t he be a spy sent in by Gominor?
11 AN AWESOME CAMPING NIGHT
Kim doesn’t know how to tell Frank she loves him. When the Meteors have to go to Turkad for a match, she takes it as a chance to spend a night camping in the forest, in the hope of having a tête-à -tête with Frank in a romantic scenery.
12 PITCHED OUT
While preparing for their next game, the Meteors learn that two multimillionaires are going to buy up the waste ground on which they train. Tough luck for the Meteors! Where else could Frank, Gladys, and their team mates go to practise?
13 THE SAND TROPHY
The Meteors decide to take part in the Turkad Sand Trophy (a competition including paragliding, canoeing, biking, and beach soccer). But Gominor’s men will stop at nothing to prevent them from winning this very demanding competition.
14 ODD JOBS FOR HEAVY WORK
The Meteors need money to buy a new engine for their bus, so they decide to put up an informal carwash. Gominor will try to discourage them and to ruin their plans. But after a hectic night, guess who’ll end up in the mire?
15 A NUISANCE OF A COUSIN
As the Meteors are getting into a train bound for Gemini for their next game, Mike, Ruddy’s young cousin, escapes from his mother’s sight and jumps into the train. Mike being a bit of a pest, the journey will be long and trying for the Meteors. But in the end Mike will prove to be a very helpful kid.
16 GOODBYE, MURPHY
The Meteors find a note from Murphy announcing that he is leaving them.
Yet, the kids do a little investigation, and find out that their coach has been kidnapped! Will they manage to find him?
17 THE METEORS AS REPORTERS
The Meteors find that Murphy isn’t mentioned enough in the press, so they decide to write an article about him and to have it published in “Soccer Magazine”. But as our heroes do their little private investigation on Murphy, it appears that their coach had a shady past. The kids refuse to believe it.
18 DANGER IN THE OPEN SEA
The team being short of money, Frank proposes to take the Meteors on an underwater treasure hunt. The sea venture will take place behind Murphy’s back, since he is against this expedition. But it will turn into a nightmare when Gominor’s men invite themselves on the trip.
19 WHAT’S UP WITH FRANK?
While the Meteors are on their way to Turkad to play the European Cup final against the Volcanoes, Frank falls into an ambush laid by Gominor.
Miska hypnotises him, and from then on he will obey all her orders. With their captain behaving totally erratically, the Meteors are in great danger.
20 THE CHALLENGE
It is the close season, so Murphy takes the Meteors on a holiday to Turkad. But, back in Onyx, Gominor has got another dirty trick up his sleeve. He is organizing a “friendly game” between the Meteors and… a team of robots! Of course, what Gominor really wants is to humiliate the Meteors by having his robots give them a thrashing.
21 WHAT’S EATING MURPHY ?
Jenny, a beautiful young woman and a journalist for the TV network of San Anpezo, visits the Meteors to make a report on them. Murphy immediately falls under her spell. But, strangely enough, Jenny keeps asking Murphy to have his players perform the most dangerous feats in front of her camera.
22 SUPERSTAR KIM
Could Gominor become another man altogether? Believing Gominor’s
intentions to be disinterested, Kim accepts to sign a contract with him for the recording of a song. But when she realises this was a trap, she turns to Frank to help her out of it.
23 RESCUING MAMITA
Mamita lives in a caravan on a plot of land in Onyx. But one day, she is evicted from it, so she moves in with Murphy. The problem is that she can’t help sticking her nose into everything, even the coaching of the Meteors! The kids will band together to help poor Murphy out of this tricky situation.
24 A REMOTE-CONTROLLED BALL
On the eve of the World Cup semi-final in San Anpezo, the Meteors find themselves trapped a cable-car, hanging in mid-air in the middle of the night, as they return from celebrating Gladys’s birthday in a chalet. But Gominor won’t stop at that to win the game. The multimillionaire plans to trick his way to the final thanks to a ball that has been tampered with.
25 CHEATERS IN DISGUISE
Gominor tries to bribe his way to the World Cup final by buying the Blackstones’ team. He wants to give it a new line-up by packing all the top players of his several teams into it, which is irregular. But Professor Shertok will come up with a revolutionary invention to conceal the new players’ identities.
26 TO THE END OF THE DREAM
The big day has finally arrived! The Meteors are going to play the Junior World Cup final. Unfortunately, Gominor has carefully prepared the ground for them to lose this game. Will our heroes manage to become World. Champions in spite of it?
