Like the cold northwesterly wind called the Tramontane which regularly beats the hills of French Catalonia -Western Pyrenees, a wind of passion is about to blow around the village of Vermeil and the estate of its mayor, José Estrella, keeper of the Cathar tradition. Angèle, José's younger daughter, has come back home with Jérémie, her 12 year-old son, after 15 years spent in Africa. The elderly patriarch sees her as the last hope of saving the debt-ridden family vineyards and the impoverished village. But Angèle clashes with José's other daughter, Irene, jealous of her younger sister's beauty, intelligence and energy. Angèle is put in charge of the estate and Irene takes over as mayor -the fight is just beginning...
