Freckle face François is on holiday at his parents' place. His tyrannical mother loves only his devious and lazy older brother. His father, busy with local politics, doesn't notice François' suffering. Several attempted suicides later, he opts for hanging himself in the attic. Father to the rescue, and from now on, the boy has an ally against his mother.
