CANNES CLASSICS 2015 OFFICIAL SELECTION

TF1 Droits Audiovisuels is proud to announce that two of its remastered films have been selected at CANNES CLASSICS 2015.

- Luchino Visconti's ROCCO E I SUOI FRATELLI (aka Rocco and His Brothers)

Inspired by an episode from Giovanni Testori’s novel “Il ponte della Ghisolfaâ€, the film stars working-class Alain Delon, Renato Salvatori, Annie Girardot and Claudia Cardinale striving for a new life.

The film won the Fipresci Prize at the 1960 Venice Film Festival and a Samuel Goldwyn International Award nomination at the 1962 Golden Globes

4K restoration carried out by Cineteca di Bologna at L'Immagine Ritrovata laboratory in association with TF1 Droits Audiovisuels, Titanus and The Film Foundation

Official screening on Sunday, May 17 at 6:30 pm, salle Buñuel

- Julien Duvivier's PANIQUE

Based on the novel “Les fiançailles de M. Hire†by Georges Simenon, the 1946 film stars Michel Simon as mysterious Mr Hire, an ideal suspect in a murder case. But the truth will be stifled by a crowd’s hatred.

The film earned a Special Mention by International Critics at the 1946 Venice Film Festival and won a Best Foreign Language Film Award at the 1947 NYFCC Awards

2K restoration carried out by TF1 DA at Digimage Laboratory

Official screening on Thursday, May 14 at 7:30 pm, salle Buñuel
