After her divorce from Gabriel, a corrupt cop who used to beat her, Anne raises her daughter, Lisa, on her own.
During a fight with her ex-husband, Anne sends Gabriel flying down the stairs, his head is broken, he’s dead. But, when the police arrives, amazingly, the body has disappeared.
Accused of his murder, Anne is detained then released for lack of evidence. But she is soon the victim of a violent stalker. Could it be Gabriel trying to pass himself off for dead?
Anne believes so and resolves to crack the case, with the help of a mysterious lawyer.
