Edmond used to be on the top of his profession: an ace chef in one of the best restaurants in Paris. But the day he lost his job, he also abandoned his wife and daughter, too proud to tell them the truth about his disgrace.
Now, after 12 years of hard times and menial work cooking for homeless shelters, Edmond wants to patch things up with his daughter, who is now a fulfilled young woman and single mother and about to become the manager of a luxury hotel.
Edmond arrives at the hotel with the best of intentions, only to be mistaken for the critic of a famous tourist guide.
And the more he tries to explain his identity to his unsuspecting daughter, the worse things get… How do you tell someone the truth about the past when you just got caught in a new lie?
